End of Year Reflection & Journalling Exercise

Take a quiet moment over the next few days to embark on a journey of self-reflection. Seek out a quiet space where you can comfortably sit with your journal, ensuring minimal distractions. As we approach the end of 2023, let's take time to travel back into the last 12 months of 2023, creating a rich understanding of the past year.

Let's rewind through 2023, starting from January and going month by month until December. Think about what you did, accomplished, or faced during each month. Reflect on the challenges that pushed you and the moments that inspired personal growth. You can write down your thoughts chronologically or group them by similar experiences. Write as much or as little as feels right for you.

When finished, put your journal aside for a few days. Then take some time out again to get back to your writing. What resonates with you as you review the pages of your year? Is there a common thread or theme weaving through your experiences? Are there patterns that reveal your strengths or areas for growth? Use these insights to gain a better understanding of your journey.

With this new awareness, cast your gaze toward the future. What lessons will you carry forward into the coming year? Is there a specific aspect of your personal or professional development that you wish to prioritise? Start to develop ideas for the coming year, shaped by the wisdom you gained from the past, and set intentions that align with your hopes and dreams.
